GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered straight

Everything people ask us about Fill My Day, in one place.

01 / GOOD TO KNOW

About Fill My Day.

What is Fill My Day?

Fill My Day is an app that matches people who need a plumber with local plumbers who have free time. Plumbers set when they're free and how far they'll travel, and nearby jobs that fit are sent to them.

How is it different from other trade platforms?

Most platforms are directories: you search a list and ring round. Fill My Day only sends a job to plumbers who are free at the right time and close enough to get there.

Who runs Fill My Day?

Fill My Day is operated by Managed Construction Ltd, a construction company registered in England and Wales (company number 15656753).

When does it launch?

The app is in development and is coming soon to Bristol. We'll announce the date on this site.

Where will it be available?

Bristol first. We'll add more areas once Bristol is working well.

Is it just for plumbers?

Plumbing comes first. Other trades may follow as Fill My Day grows.

Is there an app?

Yes. Fill My Day will be an app for iPhone and Android. You can click through an interactive design concept of it now.

02 / GOOD TO KNOW

If you need a plumber.

Can I book a plumber yet?

Not yet. Bookings will open when the app launches in Bristol.

How much does it cost to use?

It's free to use at launch. You pay the plumber the price you agree with them, directly.

How are plumbers checked?

Every plumber's qualifications and public liability insurance are checked by a person before they can reply to jobs. Anyone offering gas work must be Gas Safe registered.

What kind of jobs is it for?

Jobs that fit into a few free hours: dripping taps, running toilets, slow drains, small leaks, radiator valves and similar.

How do I choose between plumbers?

Each reply shows a price next to the plumber's profile: the work they do, photos of past jobs, reviews, jobs completed and checks.

Is Fill My Day an emergency service?

No. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. For a burst pipe, turn off your stopcock first.

Can landlords and contractors use it?

Yes. Landlords, property managers and small contractors can post jobs the same way as anyone else, with each job at its own address.

03 / GOOD TO KNOW

If you're a plumber.

How does the availability window work?

You set when you're free from and until, where you're starting and how far you'll travel. The window ends on its own at the time you set, and you can close it early.

What jobs will I be sent?

Only jobs that overlap your window, fall inside your travel distance and match the kinds of work you say you do.

Do I have to take every job?

No. You only price the jobs you want, and nothing is booked without you.

Does it cost plumbers anything?

Not at launch. There are no lead fees, subscriptions or commission at launch.

How do I get paid?

The customer pays you directly, as you agree with them. No money goes through the app at launch.

What do I need to join?

Your plumbing qualifications, a current public liability insurance certificate, and your Gas Safe ID if you do gas work.
